What are Co-Extruded Rubber Flap SealsCo-extruded rubber flap seal is a sealing profile produced by a special process (called co-extrusion). The co-extrusion process combines materials with dense or rigid rubber materials (sometimes containing metal carriers) with soft rubber flap parts to form a strong composite profile for reliable sealing.
The most common co-extruded flap trim seal is fused with a dense EPDM rubber edge trim, with internal aluminum clips, and strong grip tongues. The hard grip part can be firmly and permanently fixed to the edge (such as door frames, hatch openings), and the flexible EPDM rubber flap extends from the grip part to compress and form a tight seal on the other surface, effectively blocking external factors such as wind, dust, and water, creating an efficient and durable sealing solution for applications that require effective weatherproof protection, sound insulation, and protection.
Common Applications of Rubber Flap SealRubber flap seals are widely used in industries requiring effective weatherproofing, soundproofing, and protection against the elements. Examples include:
- Automotive: Car door seals, trunk seals, hood seals, and window seals.
- Marine: Boat hatch seals and other watertight seals.
- Construction: Doors and window weatherstrippings, electrical enclosure seals.
- Industrial: Machinery and equipment seals, toolbox seals, RV compartment door seals.
